First edition of William Everson's These Are The Ravens

"I like to feel that these poems are, with two or three exceptions, inherently of Fresno County. Although it was never my purpose to write of Fresno County as Fresno County, and although most of these poems could have been written in any section of the country, nevertheless the luxuriant vineyards, the heavy orchards, the miles of desolate pasture land, and back of it all the tremendous mountains heaved against the east, hold for me an appeal that I hope has crept into my verse."
