The photographs made up her first museum show, which "took place in 1991 at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. and toured internationally for six years. Included in the book are such legendary photographs as those from the Rolling Stones' 1975 world tour; the last ever taken of John Lennon, nude and wrapped around a fully-clothed Yoko Ono; Nixon's resignation; and Leibovitz's series of ballet dancers, with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mark Morris, and Darci Kistler.
