“I have a Social Disease. I have to go out every night. If I stay home one night I start spreading rumors to my dogs. Once I stayed home for a week and my dogs had a nervous breakdown…” - Andy Warhol
“A lot of people thought it was me everyone at the 'Factory' was hanging around, that I was some kind of big attraction that everyone came to see, but that's absolutely backward: it was me who was hanging around everyone else. I just paid the rent, and the crowds came simply because the door was open. People weren't particularly interested in seeing me; they were interested in seeing each other. They came to see who came...” - Andy Warhol
FIRST EDITION, VERY RARE SIGNED LIMITED DELUXE ISSUE, OF WARHOL'S FIRST BOOK OF PHOTOGRAPHS.
Exposures, Warhol's first photography book, began quite simply with the purchase of a new camera. As Warhol began taking pictures, he remarked to the writer Bob Colacello: “We should do a photography book together, Bob. We've got to take photographs wherever we go from now on. It's work now, Bob."
Warhol's collection of 360 images captures countless major celebrities in candid and revealing moments. With illuminating text by Warhol and Bob Colacello.
Signed in pencil on the limitation page and numbered 64/1000.
Note: Although Warhol indicated there are 1000 copies in this signed limited edition, this seems to have been fabricated by him. It is estimated that fewer than 200 were produced. This copy was signed and numbered in front of the original owner - it is possible Warhol randomly made up the limitation numbers as he signed them.
